Seeded and Organic Provenance

FailMemory is in its Seeding stage: the shared corpus is still small, and first-party probes provide useful early coverage while independent contributors arrive.

Every lookup hit tells you which path produced it.

organic

An organic pattern has been reported by at least three independent signers. Repeated reports from one API key count as one signer for that pattern, so retry loops cannot manufacture corroboration.

Organic provenance is the stronger signal. It means multiple independent callers observed the same normalized failure.

seeded

A seeded pattern comes from a designated first-party probe. The probe calls real public APIs with controlled failure shapes to exercise normalization, storage, and retrieval before organic traffic is dense enough to cover those paths.

Seeded results are queryable, but they are not independently corroborated. Treat them as warnings rather than proof, especially when your request differs from a plain unauthenticated probe in headers, permissions, or payload.

How a seeded pattern becomes organic

Provenance moves one way. Once three independent signers corroborate a seeded pattern, it is upgraded to organic. It never moves back to seeded.

The public metrics expose total, seeded, and organic pattern counts separately so first-party coverage cannot be mistaken for network validation.

What one signer can and cannot do

Help corroborate the corpus

Install the MCP server and keep fail_memory_report available after external API failures. The tool authenticates with your FAIL_MEMORY_API_KEY, so your reports contribute a distinct signer without a wallet or payment setup.

Get a free API key, then follow the quickstart. Lookups and reports are free during Seeding.
